    Generalleutnant Tunic - Opinions Please

    Hello all,
This isn't my area so I would appreciate opinions on this Generalleutnants tunic. It has definitely been worn at some point and has suffered some mild sun bleaching with the area that was covered by the belt and creases exhibiting a darker shade. Insignia I have no idea about but am I right in thinking that the eagle is Coastal Artillery? The grey matter on the shoulder boards is just dust/dirt but the flash makes it look like some sort of glue residue, which it isn't.
It doesn't give me the warm & fuzzies but you never know but it just seems to lack the quality I would expect but again, if it is late war maybe needs must etc.

Shoulderboards and collar tabs seems original. I don't know enough about tunics to say this or that, although i'll guess that one's good to.

The question is of course when the insignia and the tunic met for the first time.

I would want to see it in hand, the materials for the tunic look good but as Jon said with these it is always a question of when everything came together and that is very hard to figure out with only photos unless something is put together very poorly. The eagle I will leave to someone else, it is sort of "dumpy" for a tunic like this but may be real, I see the outlines of a ghost on the lower edge and left side but then you have the "upgraded tunic argument". What does the seller say and is it a dealer or? No evidence of a feldspange or even basic awards?

The dealer is a trusted one but more known for paperwork. With regards to the eagle, the stitching doesn't go through the lining and the liner/sleeve stitching seems untampered with.

What's also interesting is the way the shoulder boards are attached. In that way it might be hard, cause one can't take a look at the tailoring inside to see if the sleeve was tampered with.

                    Is this the named one?

Breast eagle is not right, sewing of collar tabs is kindisch, attachment of shoulder boards is also very strange. Overall not Generalleutnant quality.

                      I could entertain doubts...

I would be wary and want to see it. The eagle as noted already is a concern.

My one-look analysis is that no self-respecting Generalleutnant would wear something like that. I think that there are enough oddities on the tunic to raise questions. The shoulder boards look like they are for a greatcoat.

Have any of you gentlemen ever seen belt hooks on a General's uniform before?

I have seen the smaller type of ramps on the sides but not the full size issue type. The jacket I believe itself is real but would not be too excited about it without knowing a lot more and seeing it. Note the quality of the sewing on the board loops as well.
