    Old style rock TSD opinion.

Hello, please your opinions on this old style Reichwehr rock.
    It has no stamps.

    Regards.

The jacket dates to the later 1920s and TSD was not formed until Jan (?) 1944. It may be an older HV/TSD officer that wore a tunic late in the War from earlier service. By regulations this style tunic could not be worn after I think 1941 or 42 but of course later in the War the orders were not closely followed.

I had a similar RH tunic that was restored to TSD by a collector most likely because TSD insignia was very cheap.

Is there evidence of other tab stitching under the collar?

My thoughts exactly, seems like an anomaly or an uninformed collector effort.Jacques

Exactly...late war insignia on a Weimar-early TR era tunic is a strange...
Its possible of course, a thrifty officer recycling an older "HV" uniform, converting it to "TSD" per 1944 regulations,
but based on the rank (Captain) somewhat unlikely...
He would have been an officer at least 10 years (based on old style the rock cut) and during the war promotions were rapid...
A Captain with a pre-war rock uniform with 1944 insignia is a little suspicous... but who knows?

I am not digging the application of the collar tabs.

Indeed, that's why I asked about the under collar. Could have been done period but looks more like a low power modern machine job. I can smell the blue electric smoke now

I thinks collar's tab is too new and were added by collector.

              Regards.

Yep...collar tabs are poorly sewn with just the front view. Nice illustration Johnny, as usual.

Could this uniform not belong to the TSD?

The tunic pattern is referred to as the M1928 and then later as the Old style Rock. On paper is was phased out for wear in March 1942 for Company and field officers but we know from photos it continued to be worn. To see one being worn at the end of the War by an older officer would not be too surprising to me. After 1943 they had a lot of other problems to focus on.

Yes, that's right, the collar's tab has been added recently.

And the colour of the board is blue or blue electric.

                      Regards.
