If I understand you correctly, I agree. They have confused the "M" for "Model" instead of its meaning, Munich.

I too have noticed that M36, M40, and M43 stamped onto fake tunics to correspond to the "type" of tunic they are attempting to copy.

Yes, that is what I meant. My favorite thing like was when At the Front used their Kentucky phone number for the RBN. I had a guy selling one of their tunics on EBAY claiming it was from an 82nd Airborne Vet and I told him to call the number.
