    Question about yellow eagle.

I have a question about a "yellow" eagle of my collection.
What is this? Post it for comparison with another but regular silver, let me know please.
    Thanks, Giancarlo.

      Greetings Giancarlo,

Your "Yellow" eagle is a second pattern flatwire eagle used on the waffenrock. It replaced the eagle you show for comparison. It looks to be "Toned", or the wire has turned color. I have never seen a KM/CA eagle of this type before.

Johnny vd Heidjen could be helpful in this thread. I hope this helps.

Oh yes Fred, thanks for your help
        Now I know that:
        -original
        -possible rare KM
        Good.
        Ciao, Giancarlo.

To me it looks tarnished or stained, or as Fred put it, 'toned' like a decal.

A hope we can all share, but probably not this time, maybe next time

original possibly toned from cigarette smoke
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Why not? Interesting supposition, but is possible?

yes its possible Ive sat in and drank beer at some local V.F.W and American Legion Halls that had original stuff on shelfs over the Bar and the stuff was saturated with cigarette/cigar smoke

Here is an extreme example of smoke staining, on a cap from the local fleamarket in Amsterdam. And remember this is a post war cap and in the hand it looks worse than this image suggests.
