Shoes - Up Prade Uniform for Kav. Rgt 13 Oberfeldwebel

Just got this set today - I will post more pics later as I have some questions regarding the shoes. Otherwise, it appears to all be from the same Soldat:

Remember that before the War a lot of items were being imported. These are really not too strange. Everyone, inculding Mickey Mouse cashed in on the expansion of the WH. They look like my old Carolina jump boots.

Here are the shoes - stone mint, but sized as "7 1/2". I'd appreciate any comments or opinions...

Last two for tonight. Unfortunately, the visor has a couple of breaks in the pasteboard, but it is a nice sized 58. The tunic is about a 38 OR 40L US and the trousers area 34/32 - I could wear them to work!

The set looks very nice. I cannot say much more on the shoes with the 7 1/2 size marks or if they are are period but I do know that shoes were imported from outside of Germany before the War and were for sale in period catalogs.

Thanks, John. The Waffenrock is a lightweight version and I suspect it was tailored in an occupied country. All the insignia is original to the tunic to include the eagle, from what I can tell. Here's a few more pics - the cap is Geprüft marked to the 9th Company of the 6th Aufklarüngs Regiment:

Nice, I know the material too, it is a very finely woven light weight wool. The Eagle is interesting, that to me looks like it might be Foreign made, it looks early with the longer neck like the a copy of the early Bevo eagle in bullion etc.

                          A nice set indeed Don
I notice that the rubber heels on the boots are made by the famous German tyre manufacturer 'Continental' which implies to me that they were not imported & the UK/US size markings could suggest that they were possibly intended for the export market. I can't comment on the date of your boots, but they are made in the classic 'Oxford' style which apparently was also known as the 'Blücher'. I (and many others) used to wear these exact same style of boots to school in the '70s, but the style goes back a lot longer than that.

Thanks, John - I didn't even realize that Continental was a German firm! The shoes seem to conform to what I have been able to find in reference books for low-quarter shoes save for the capped toes.
