    Hello Paul,

I have no idea how old this piece is, but is the sign of the 23. ID (Wehrmacht, founded 1935) in Potsdam. It ressembles a grenadier of the Riesengarde or Lange Kerls (later IR 6) of King Friedrich Wilhelm I. of Prussia (1713-1740).

It's the unofficial unit cap badge of the 26th Panzer Division. It usually has two prongs on the back.

        Thanks Robin,
Any idea why it has a pin. A variation or a copy?

        Regards
        Paul
