    Breast eagle question

    Dear friends and fellow collectors,

I have a question about Drillich (hbt) work tunics, what kind of breast eagles did they wear on it, the zinc ones or the cloth ones or both?
Bought this weekend a nice Drillich (hbt) work jacket and want to fit an eagle on it, so thats the reason I ask.
    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards,
    Coco bandy

Ps: sorry for my bad english...

Most Drillichs didn't have any eagles on them, at least when we are talking about work jackets (the ones with only two pockets). The Drillich summer combat jacket was worn with a normal eagle, mostly with a mid- to late-war variant (factory applied).
Sewing an early or higher quality eagle on a Drillich is not impossible, but certainly not correct. Some NCO's or officers 'upgraded' simple Drillichs with early or even officer-quality insignia.

      Thanks for the reply!
I was asking this on behalf of this jacket: http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Heer/photos/H021461.html
(Don't know allowed to post link?)
I have one exactly the same, and was thinking of fitting an eagle on it, but if it was only done high rank ill leave it as it is.

      Thanks again!

Very akward combination, not correct IMO. Officer's white summer tunic eagle on a work jacket. Not impossible, though... Officer who wanted to stand out amongst his men while working with them? Pionier officer building a bridge? I couldn't tell...

These jackets were not supposed to have breast eagles. Better to leave it alone.

            ....

This combination is pure fanatasy IMO, which is pretty common on that website.
