    White Shirts

    Hi I have yet to see a white issue heer shirt (early)for under the tunic wear.any pictures would be appreciated and a price .Thank you

    Those are pretty rare. I think I've seen one or two in 10 years and both of those were iffy. After the war most of the white shirts continued to be worn as civilian attire because of the lack of insignia. Once they were worn out they were thrown away or turned into rags to clean the bathroom.

      Yes, very rare. I used to own one a long time ago. Then I decided to sell it Back then it was a tough task though as nobody collected that kind of stuff and I nearly had to give the guy some money to take it. All I remember about it is that it was very long.

      I was smart enough though to keep a mint pair of RB# white long johns.

        I have a collarless one dated 1939....but since my subscription IS PERPETUALLY PENDING WITHOUT ANY REASONS OR EXPLANATIONS(Seba,will you please investigate? ),I CANNOT post any attachments!

                Heres one of my collarless white shirts.As I understand it this particular style was peculiar to the mountain troops.It supposedly served as improvised winter camo during the first Russian winter. The shirt itself is over 4 foot long! Jim

                  White on white doesn't exactly work the best.Unfortunately I don't think the misses would appreciate me painting the door black.Jim
