Yes Johnny, there is a little fading, not much though.

M41 Tropical Tunic

More likely GbJr, simply due to the extremely low number of SzB288 members who served in Africa as opposed to GbJr who served in large numbers, and surviving tunics left today.
A nice original tunic that could benefit from some TLC on that eagle with a finer application.
The tunic is an 'm40' (if any generic collector nomenclature is used) as these were produced from 1940 onwards - just as the troppenfeldmutze is an 'm40' not 'm41'....
Look after it.

Super tunic Gary. I found this thread very helpful regarding sewing eagles.

Hi Gary
Congratulations. I like it a lot and the collar application look good. I do not see any previous holes on the collare patches. I ahave an identical tunic with replaced eagle and a GJ patch. The patch is still on the jacket

Very nice Gary.
I would tend to believe that the missing patch was Gebirgs as well, not SV288. The latter are popular with some collectors but, as NZMark as already mentioned, Gebirgsjager were issued tropical tunics in much larger numbers with many of these tunics surviving in collections today.
