That shield looks like it came out of the factory, that would probably be enough for me to walk away. Is there an image showing fading underneath? Even so it may be replaced.

Those things age very quickly when exposed to wear and tear. I have seen a couple cases where the guy had added awards after the war and they were mint and usually just pinned on.

I think its cool! I had one once where the backing was some leather that appeared to be fashioned from a leather cup from the Yahtzee boardgame.

Crazy with the other tunic and the shiffchens!

I looked at the entire lot and did not observe that they all were to the same guy,,I really feel a little like the dullest knife in the draw at the moment

The stripped tunic pictured was being offered alongside the tunic in the thread along with 2 shiffchens,,one wool and 1 tricot which match to the tunics. The stripped tunic has the same loops and krim shadow as the tunic in the thread...Yours truly did not even notice it.

Looks like a really bad red ink stain to the pocket and across the front to the lapel. You asked in the email if it was Trikot, I go not think it is.

Still feel idiotic Maybe the stain is the reason for the new tunic...or is it BLOOD??!!!!

Don't punish yourself, I found a mint unissued Earth Gray SS-VT tunic at an antique mall once for 300 US and went home to look in my books and figure out what it was and of course it was gone when I went back the next day

I stared at a PAB once wondering why it was so cheap for 10 minutes only to have my friend peek over my shoulder and tell me it was denazified.

Nice one on the SS tunic !

I thought the tunic might have been tricot due to one of the schiffchens being tricot. The other schiffchen was the same type late war wool.

Your observation on the stain put it all together for me, now I feel good with the tunic.Ill photo under the shield and the loops in a bit.
