    Foreign Volunteer Uniform or...?

Does anyone know what organization wore this type tunic? It has a remaining collar tab like the LW Field Division type (same size and color), and the remains of a sewn-in shoulder board that also had the red piping and dark green body.

It has pebbled civil-type belt ramps that are sewn in, no wound pocket pouch, and wrapped cuffs almost like the waffenrock type in terms of construction. Collar and cuffs are piped in dark green.

    Any ideas?

    regards, Robert

Collar is a dual hook job; no HBT underside just the zig-zag stitching -

belt ramps. Left sleeve had an oval patch, placed high near the shoulder.

I'd say its a Dutch uniform.
The small french cuffs and the sewn belt-hoops are an indicator.

The tab looks like it could be for a Georgian volunteer, but I would expect a darker shade of green in it.

Could you show a picture of the lining ( any markings ) ?

IMO it is definitely NOT a Dutch conversion .

The cut does look somewhat like the late Dutch tunics with laydown collar , but these had SEVEN front buttons .
They also had unpleated lower pockets , and no piping .

This could be postWar as well. Are there any marks or was a sew in tag removed? Does the braid look polyester etc? Where did it come from Estate etc. in the US?

It was on Ebay. The color isn't really German, kind of a dark green, and the pocket flap details are strange. It's fully lined with one slit upper chest interior pocket and striped white sleeve liners, but no other details. Really an odd coat.

Nick G is your man, but he probably is at the Louisville Love in. I am sweating thinking about what is on those tables right now. That braid and the collar piping looks post War to me but maybe not.
