A fellow forum member sent me a link to some drum majors swallows nest on a dealers site. I don't recognize the litzen pattern, but what really confuses me is that there are 8 vertical "bars." My understanding is that military swallows nests had 7 bars until the mid-30's at which time regulations changed to 9 bars. I believe that post-war German swallows nests also have 9.
Does anyone know of an organization in imperial or TR Germany that used 8 bars on their musicians swallows nests?!!
