The stamps on the left are the inital issue stamps, it was reconditioned and reissued and restamped with slightly smaller sizes on the right. When it was reconditioned in the factory they replaced the original green collar with a fieldgray one, it was reissued and then had the badge cloth dark green collar added and eagle as an upgrade over the hand sewn factory eagle. You do see eagles applied over issue, most typically an officers eagle over the factory as an upgrade but also like this for NCOs.

It was popular to remove the bellows and sew pockets down flat, also to add padding etc. IMO an NCO upgrade of a reissued jacket probably reconditioned circa 1940? All KIA and MIA and out processed wounded soldiers issue items went to be refurbished if needed and reissued.

      Hello Robert,
This Feldbluse shows all this odd features because it was entirely retailored and shortened. Tabs for the hooks were applied and the previous system was deleted. IMO the waist pockets were reapplied exactly at the same place. ...nice Feldbluse

I hope i haven't bored you all out of your minds. These manufacturing modifications and variations are nice to share, I believe, and welcome your comments.

IMO the collar is original to the tunic, it was too big and was shortened also
IMO the original markings were stamped on the right (uncommon but already seen) and the new ones stamped after it was modified are on the left.

My opinion on the collar is from looking at the overhang of the badge cloth fabric and the hand sewing with green thread. What does the colalr look like under the area where the seem is? If it is machine sewn down then it is factory.

The size stamps on the right are smaller than the left, that is why I think the opposite.

To me this is one hell of an original worn tunic. Congratulations

Common to apply these machine embroidered types over the factory sewn eagles.

                An example.

                      Good looking depot reissue tunic.

If you notice that the front belt ramp holes are nearly under the arm pits showing that the tunic's chest size was reduced quite a bit by narrowing the back panel. The skirt was shortened as well and the lower pockets were moved up, above the lowest lapel button.

Hello Robert, really an interesting tunic with insignia original applied in my opinion, congrats.

Interesting picture Glenn, a similar pattern of eagle is machine applied over the factory sewn eagle in my customized NCO M43.

                            Wonderful jacket Luca.

I believe that this is the same eagle that is on your jacket (real close to it anyway)
