Nobody?
I found some informations about the bgs tarn in the book "Wehrmacht Camouflage Uniforms and Post-War Derivates". Daniel Peterson writes about the BGS-Splittertarn: "Two distinguishing features differentiate BGS-Splittermuster from Heeres-Splittermuster. Firstly, the background colour of the bgs pattern is an extremely pale grey, nearly an off-white; and secondly, all BGS splinter camouflage material, whether used in the manufacture of Zeltbahnen or Clothing, was printed white on the reverse side for snow camouflage effect."
So imo this tunic is not made from bgs material. Maybe from the early version "Heeres Tarnhemd" material?

Nope, cloth isn't the cloth used for smocks !
It is interesting though.
Let's assume this is wartime cloth, then it is still very hard to determine when the jacket was put together.... 65 years ago or 6,5 years ago.
Therefor these jackets will always be a topic of discussion between believers and non believers. I guess it all comes down to the provenance of the item itself. When you recieved the jacket from the veteran himself and he was even able to show you pics of him using it in wear...then don't hesitate !
If it comes from "an old collection" and the guy who originally bought it "rescued" it from a flea market in the late 1960's or 1970's .....then it's up to you to believe or not.
Apart from the believer -nonbeliever discussion, I think the jacket is well put together.
pwInterested in all E. Reitz Uniformwerke items.

Field made in such a manner? Why not just use a standard issue Luft splinter GD jacket, an item which was rather common?
IMO, a recent creation. Based on the stitch holes, etc.Willi
