    Question about hbt-tunic....

    hey guys!

i want to "create" a soldier of the westfront 1944 in summer (normandy, france, holland etc.).... for this purpose i would like to use a hbt-m43-tunic!

my question is: is that authentic or did the wehrmacht not use hbt-jackets there? i mean the use of hbt-tunics was related to the weather and i don´t know what weather it was in normandy, was ist a cold/rainy summer? should a better buy a normal m43?

    best regards!

At the beginning of D-Day it was cold and very wet. Went on like this several days. Even stormy weather !
Later on it became drier and hotter.
Now concerning the clothing, yes they did use the HBT material as well as the M36, M40 ,M41, M43, ..... When you look at pics for example of the SS panzers in Normandy, you'll see what I mean.

    Best,
    Jan

In southern France they used lots of HBT clothing. In Normandy it seems like it was rarer, but you can still see hbt on some photos.
Below are some German soldiers captured just around D Day by Canadian troops.

Hey, what was Marlon Brando doing there on the left?!
(Sorry for interrupting the thread but the likeness just popped out at me and I couldn't resist)
        Best regards,
