I would be happy to smash one of Glenn's tunics into pieces but unlike many other examples it is not that easy.

Is this the reasonable intent here?

I always love the disclaimers at the end.

This is exactly why I wouldnt splash an original GD tunic on the worlwide web?

      Now its a disclaimer?

I have a lot friends on the forum including Glenn. Your posting and comments are "sour grapes" in my opinion and were unwarranted. You stated your opinion as did I.

            Hi

This jacket has a lot of positive things that many of my combat tunics do not have. This is a tunic with provenance from a soldier that served in GD unit. I like the fact that the eagle was in a pocket, as it would have been eay to try to have it professionally attached before selling it.
It is an amazing find IMHO. I do not think the seller was trying to deceit.

            Just my opinion

This thread turned into a selling situation that started for opinions.

              Mine were misunderstood.

If I could take a shot at adding this one to my collection , I would not hesitate. A rock solid GD tunic is the top of the ladder for me.

I for one posted an objective opinion on the tunic. I did so to voice an opinion on the item shown, it had nothing to do with the owner. l call them as I see them with no disrespect for the person or any position they may hold on the forum. I try to treat everyone the same when it comes to comments on their item.

Glenn never comments on any of my items, which is his perogative. My comments are directed at inanimate objects...not their owners.

I would expect troops of the GD that were part of the Berlin Garrision even late in the war to want to look as "regulation " as possible which of course would be the m36 style tunic.

Yep,and he also appears to be wearing a bullion officers breast eagle, with a Gefreiter chevron on the left sleeve.

Take a look at the officers m43 upgade. The insignia was applied onto the gray collar, which was not replaced like the em's with a dark green collar. Jacques

Those are field tunics, I understand they wore M43s. The tunic Glenn has is IMO probably as he noted for "best dress" tunic and for that use I would expect to see an earlier tunic.

You can see in the photo the EM is trying to make the M43 look like a prewar tunic. If they could get there hands on a M36 later in the War I think it would be likely it was saved for non-field wear etc. and set up like Glenn's example.
