    Tropical eagle opinion please

I just bought this KM tropical breast eagle from an online dealer. Despite being "tunic removed" it looks mighty fresh. Could the Eagle guys please comment?
Also would this material (if genuine) have been worn on a tropical tunic or on a tropical shirt?
    Best regards,
    ---Norm

    Eagle

    Greetings Norm F,

The eagle looks like a nice tunic removed original. It is a standard style breast eagle which was usually used on a tunic but could be used on a shirt.

      common variation?

      Thanks Fred,
I was a little worried since most of the other examples I'd seen around the net were with a finer shinier thread and weave like the one below. Was this perhaps the difference between one originally intended for a shirt rather than a tunic?
      Best regards,

        Greetings Norm,

Alot of time it depends on the wear. I really like yours and it appears to be a nice early one in my opinion. I have not seen a KM BeVo Breast eagle specifically for the shirt. BeVo eagles were thin enough to be worn on shirts though.

          more KM tropicals

          Thanks again Fred,
I'm curious to know what it is about my eagle posted at the start of this thread that suggests an early time period to you?
It would be great if we could somehow put together a series of images of KM tropical BEVo's with a chronology to provide a basis for dating similar items...I wonder if the expertise is out there.
For now here are a few I've found on the net. (I apologize for a couple that are unreferenced).

David48 recently posted some beauties on this forum:

          and also his:

...and I really covet the one cut off a shirt, posted by John Huff on this forum. I wonder if he'll ever part with it!

and finally a couple more, the upper one posted by NickG on this forum and other unreferenced (sorry). All of these have a shinier finer appearance than mine which is why I worried about the more "cloth-like" texture of mine.
