    Luftwaffe "G L" troops revisited

    Luftwaffe "G L" revisited.
    Luftwaffe "General Luftzeugmeister" technical officials.

First a repeat of some period images (posted before by me and fellow WAF members),
illustrating the wide variety of uniforms and insignia worn!

Uniform evolution of these aviation technical specialists:
    - black dyed French uniforms with "Roman "G L" cyphers
    - black dyed Luftaffe fliegerblusen with GL insignia
    - regular LW fliegerblusen

Note "G" (viewers left) and "L" (viewers right) cyphers here on the shoulderstraps
with rank pips! "G L" troops never wore tresse...

They operated in the tropics as well.
Note cap and tunic lacking LW eagle and placement of
      "G" + "L" collar cyphers on collar!
The "G L" cogwheel device here worn on left breast...

Left; converted black dyed French uniform as originally worn and
right; a standard LW pattern fliegerblouse, both with appropriate
        "G L" insignia

Here you can tell the clear difference between black dyed and standard LW
fliegerblouses eventhough its a b/w image! Big contrast!

Now lets bring these pictures alive! IN COLOR!!

This is a reconstruction of what such a "G L" uniform would have looked like in WW2.
A black dyed war time fliegerbluse with pants, badged as a Luftwaffe Luftzeugmeister aeronautical technician!
Everything shown is original in these images but restored...but hey...
Ask the question: how often have you seen one of these in real life? (untouched or restored...never?)

Close up! The "G L" cyphers are pretty much unobtainable...
