    Rare Oberst shoulder boards

    HI,

I got this rare shoulder boards this week. The owner was an Oberst der Infanterie but the question is was he at an panzerjäger unit or Kradschützen unit? I never saw this combination.

Did anyone know whitch unit had this type of boards?

    Best,

Oberst Wetzel was the commander at the start of the War, they may have been his if there were no later commanders. You should be able to narrow it down to 3 or less people maybe only Wetzel You can see pictures of him and the staff here:

I think the naughty Oberst has his hands in his pockets. Very rare boards, much more so than Krad or a Combat arm. Now you are dealing with only a handful of people or maybe only one. Nice set

In the large group picture on the website you can also see him after he has been promoted to General, see the tabs in the front, he is wearing a monocle in both photos.

Here he is in the middle after he was promoted to General. There may have been a full Oberst under him later in the War so there could be two owners for the boards. You will need to research that.
