I just scored this today from an old collection... a 1940 dated Heer HBT tunic (drill? There's no bandage pocket and no belt ramp holes) that was tailored for wear by a Medical Major. The modifications to the tunic:
- addition of a bottle green collar with 2 closure hooks.
- front buttons removed, flap folded over and SEVEN new holes made to give it the Reichswehr look. The old holes were sewn shut (you can't see them, the flap is folded over) and the new buttons were moved inward. This guy was smaller than the HBT tunic he found!
- cuffs shortened somewhat - hand sewn.
The condition of the tunic is fabulous. The most wear is to the breast eagle, but I stongly believe it is original to the tunic. I think this was created and barely worn after that. Enjoy!
