A friend of mine is very close to a WWII veteran, and knows that I am into this stuff, and told me that when he had went to the vets house to help him clean up, he spotted a foot locker by the door, inside was a german dress hat, and some patches, along with alot of US stuff. The vet was going to throw it away, but my friend talked him out of it, and I may get the collection if it doesnt go to a museum(I advised him against museums, as the one he wants to donate to doesnt take care of militaria all that well, they will put headgear in boxes and put helmets in with them, and a few good caps have been ruined that way, and the curator has parted out groups before and sold them off). What is the best course of action to take, the vet doesnt want to sell it, but wants to just get rid of it. I really hope it is saved!!!
