looks like a high-quality KM officers' eagle on dark blue. coast arty. would be on feldgrau wool base, yes?

but that raises a Q. for us non-experts: is there a diff. between a coast arty. GENERALS' eagle and reg'lar CA officers'?

I Hope this extra pic shows that the base wool colour is a dark green, and as other member has said how do you tell the differance?

You can't tell the difference with certainty; it's a judgement call based on overall quality, etc. I would have no problems at all calling this one an army general's eagle. It's very nice.

          Congrats on a good find!

          Regards,

          Drew

            Eagle

Just like Drew said, you could lean either way. Personally I'd lean towards it being a KM eagle, but thats my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. Nice one though....Alex

say again - really impressive workmanship here, but of course a rich kid could afford to have one made "sonderqualitat" as nice as any general's. but yeh - nice coastal arty. find.

Take a lesson from the dealers.

If you are buying, it's a bog standard Navy Coastal Artillery Officer eagle.

If you are selling, it's a rare Army General's eagle!

                  thanks, constable lumsden.

I fear for the well-heeled but easily gulled collector when confronted with a "dye-job"- the KM officers' eagle that's not-so-magically turned from green to black, and then advert'd as "panzer general!"
