Hi Nick!
Around page 178 there s 2 more pics of him but he s wearing the smock inside the pants and i think you can see the pants are extended out cos of the smock

Oh OK so not cut but tucked in the pants... could be (a lot of material!)!
Smocks are obviously way too long for cramped vehicles expecially if you are an officer meaning a tank commander riding in a turret !

Yes I would agree,why go through the trouble of removing the luft eagle as it would be much easier just to apply it over the top (common).

I would say that it is possibly a Heer officers flatwire eagle as well.
