    GJ cap Edelweiss question

I know that modern BW edelweiss cap badges have a curved stem and 4 mounting holes and a wartime edelweiss a straight stem with 5 mounting holes,
but what about 3 mounting holes?
This is offered to me as a war time piece... Any opinions?
    Thanks Nick

This is a bad one. Not only are the holes wrong, but the petals of the edelweiss flower are too pointy. The authentic ones have a more rounded shape. Run from this one.

All the postwar Austrian ones that I have seen are copperish-brown colored. Did they make ones postwar that look like this?

BTW, I consider this a fake because it is being offered as a wartime piece when it isn't, but that's just me.

I'd be very pleased to get an update on this very subject. I've always considered these as late-war one-piece stamped edelweisses ; but of course I can be wrong on that.

These cap badges are made of thin metal (compared to the classic ones), thus are easilly bendable ; they are also quite different in their design, have their center guilt painted, and show only 3 sewing holes. But would this be in contradiction with an economy issue of the nice-looking, vaulted, 2 pieces edelweisses we all know (below) ?
