Well check out the DAK collection thread, I posted a nice variety of Trop boards there so you can see the difference. I can't repost the image for some reason on this thread. Matt

                Hi Chistopher

Yes it took a little time to put this together. But we owe Mr Evans a great deal for the hard research he put into this, THANKS again sir.

Thanks also to Mark & Matt for posting the different piping colors on all those great straps

                & Jerry

My feeling is that there were quite a few different colored tropical Blitz's as every unit would have com. But I know some would disagree with me there.

Hope this thread is of some use to the Forum.

                    Hi Matt

Geez, awesome collection. So the only colors i don't see (if my pc is correct)
are genderme orange, recon gold-yellow, nebel purple and clergy purple ?
And of course signals yellow which would not need a blitz as the whole unit is com. With the exception of clergy purple, would think the other three branches also had com and maybe a blitz too...?

Thanks for posting this info to the thread

                      Tim,

the reddish brown are recon, the 3rd row down are all orange in color so likely either recruiting (which isn't likely in the desert) or they are the field police, don't have any chaplin branch ones and likely they do not exist, and I have 1 nebel but it is a continental. Matt

And none for medical, though they are not common for continental either (if they exist) and panzer pioneer again not common anywhere, I think.

Great collection of blitz's Matt. I have all the same colours, (I think) and I agree about the orange examples, I have one as well, + one I'm not sure of, its a sort of orange/red. Do you get a darker green colour? Problem with some of these, is that different people see some as orange, whilst others say they are brown, for construction, etc...

                        Jerry

PS the pink at bottom right is on its way -thanks again to Matt

                          Hi Jerry & Matt

Thanks for the addition of your Blitz's and info. Thought there was orange but some may disagree and say these are light brown instead as you mention.

Also the reddish-brown was not used by the recon till Oct/Nov '41 in Afrika so the gold-yellow should be seen sometimes too ? Though there were only 2 Bn's of recon in the DAK in Afrika prior to Oct/Nov '41 so these would be rare if made.

                            Tim,

I agree they would be very rare. I do have a recon NCO tropical board. Matt
