Uniform of Major Leo Ritter, 80 Artillerie Regiment (mot)

    Hi All -

Just got the Herr Major up on a mannequin and wanted to show him off (I couldn't let Mark have all the fun). This tunic is in Neal and Tim's book on Army parade uniforms. I obtained it from Shawn Southern a few months back. It is unusual in that Ritter was awarded the Italian Crown Order and the Order of the Crown of King Zvonimir from the Croatians - both ribbons were still extant on the tunic. I have found a Crown Order but am still searching for the Croatian neck order. The tailor is Holters and the tunic has all the neat bells and whistles you like to see on a Holters tunic - just awesome craftsmanship. The moths got to it a bit and I have been working on repairing a few nibbles, but as you can see it still is killer on display. Hope you enjoy it!

Ritter was a big boy - the mannequin is a little over six feet tall...

Oh, no, Lelez - I prefer the "neutral" white mannequins!

Hey Don, I never seen a lid like that in stunning mint conditions
The same view for the tunic, congrats.

                      Don,

                      this is TOP quality!

And I do like the way it is on display....This is IMO the best way to show off parade tunics!

                      Cheers

I think these mannequins are great. The problem with the flesh coloured ones with big blue eyes is that people's attention who are looking at your items are drawn to the mannequin's face and not the items being displayed. I have heard comments such as "creepy" etc because of it.

You focus more on the Regalia when no face is present.
