Medical Symbol

Nice looking tunic, but I never saw a medical symbol on a panzer shoulder board. Dion, any history with this tunic?

Hi Tony, No history whatsoever just seen that it had the Doctor label inside.

That is the strangest thing I have ever seen... I have seen many a medic/doctor assigned to just about every type of unit... but this is the first that did not wear the cornflower blue waffenfarbe.

This is really blowing my mind. I cannot imagine someone tinkering with a Panzer uniform in this manner. Maybe the doctor being allowed to wear the pink waffenfarbe is some sort of "unofficial" honor?

Another oddity is the missing lower pockets. Does the jacket follow the pre-war style with the inner pockets and slanted flaps? Can't tell the angles of the flaps. Most unusual for a 1942/43 taylored M36 tunic.

I have never heard of such a thing either...

but it is either some form unofficial unit level form of recognition to a brave doctor(a unit adoption of sorts) or a post war moch up.



Those are the two things that come to my mind...
