    Breast eagle – question

    Hello,
I have one question to you.
Was it very common, during the war, to stitch the breast adler to the tunic using between this badge and uniform additional piece of cloth? What was the reason to use this type of stitch?

    Best regards

Hi Hundus, it was sometimes done to make the eagle stand out. Mainly done on parade or "best" tunics for walking out.

    Cheers, Ade.

      Hello Adrian Stevenson,
thank you very much for your information - I saw a few field tunic with this kind of stitching breast eagle and it was strange to me. So you told it was probably the best uniform of particular soldier and he want to improve it in that kind?

      Best regards
