To remove fake collar tress or not?

There are others far more experienced than myself regarding what is correct for period tresse. My initial response (above) was to convey caution to not rush into stripping this tunic just because of the elongated diamonds. I think that caution is still justified.

I really do appreciate your input chaps - I will leave the tress on. I just became concerned when I saw the elongated diamonds and the UV glow. Maybe it is period tress applied post-war, who knows!?
