Hmmm... Thanks for posting this. Does anyone know who owns Hoppe's Panzer wrap (i.e., who consigned it to the auction)?

    Thanks much,

    Drew

After my post above, I remembered that I had seen that Maus grouping for sale a few years ago. I'm just trying to remember where... If I remember correctly, it took quite some time to sell (for non-price reasons).

Anyhow, the wrapper is my interest, so any thoughts info would be welcome!

I sure would not hold your breath that the wrapper is any good.

            wrapper

I just looked at the pic of the wrapper and noticed that they have the bar to the EK1 ww1 with an EK1 ww2. That sends signals right off!!!! You wouldn't have the Bar with an EK1(ww2) it would be pared with an EK1(ww1).... obviously the collector that added the medals doesn't know that

I wouldn't either... I'm more curious about how it is attributed to Hoppe. From what I can tell, there's nothing more to go on than the fact that he's seen in pictures wearing a wrap at times.

A couple of auctions back they had a Confederate belt and buckle attributed to a Confederate General. Even though the belt and buckle were 100% original, the attribution was 100% false and had been created/added by the consignor.

                  Drew,

I know why the wrap is of interest to you. I wish I had the information you are looking for. I will be interested to see what happens with this.

I spoke with the auction house today and they are supposed to have someone contact me re: the attribution of the uniform. I'm also supposed to get some more detailed pics and will post them here when I get them.

                    Thanks!

Let us know, Drew - I wonder if the high-end tunics - Hoppe's and Maus', are from the same consigner. The medals on Maus's tunic give me a little indigestion - the KC is admittedly a "jeweler's copy", but the medal bar is absolutely horrible, and I can't get a good feel for the others from the scant photos...

Ok, I received some pictures of the wrap today. Unfortunately, not very many or any detailed enough to make a decision on. I'll post them here for information purposes or if anyone else wishes to make a run on the item.

                        Regards,

                        Drew
