I need help with a jacket size

Hello folks,
I have had this leather U-boat jacket for almost 25 years and I would like to display it with my KM cap. I have a question, is this jacket a small or medium? Will it fit the medium sized mannequin produced by Webster Displays? I like the Herman figure and was wanting to buy it.

Hi Jody,
Webster display mannequins tend to be 38" chests (correct me if I'm wrong, team!). I tend to find the best way to get an accurate chest measurement from a tunic is to lay it flat, (buttoned up), and run a tape measure from arm-pit to arm-pit. Double that and you the actual chest size. I have found wartime sizing to be innaccurate at times, so this takes the guess work out of the equation.

In European Sizes subtract 10 from the number and it will give you the US Equivalent.Thus a "48" European Size would be a 38 inch Chest in US Sizing.

I used to have one of those webster display mannequins and it fit a size 36 tunic I had. I personally thought the webster display was a POS as the pressboard base was always loose and the $5 worth of styrofoam just had a ring of cheapness to it. I did end up with it due to the size though, as the tunic I had bought it for at the time was the smaller size 36 mentioned above.
