I have posted two photographs of unidentified Luftwaffen personnel in the Axis History Forum:

A contributor suggested that at least one of the pictures should depict HG Division personnel, perhaps reconnaissance unit, wearing a particular type of Waffen-SS camouflage smock.
Actually the reconnaisance bn of the HG Division was indeed in action in that particular area of Italy at the time the pictures were supposedly taken. Is there an uniform expert in this forum who can confirm (or not confirm) this identification? Is it to exclude that the soldiers in the picture might belong to other LW units in Italy in 1944? In another picture of the series you can see other LW soldiers manning an MG 15. Wouldn't this be an unusual weapon for a front line unit as the HG Division?
Thanks in advance and best regards
