This uniform was found in a storage locker that has been sealed for over 20 years. It was found with a very nice and textbook German Officers jacket. I’m seeking opinions on what it is. Please see my bullets below. My guess is a tailored WWI era jacket to TR era.
+ EK1 and Wound Badge was added by me, and photographed to demonstrate the exact preexisting holes matching EK1 and badge pin & catch.
+ Evidence of Chevrons or other patch on left sleeve.
+ Heavily tailored at the bottom 1/2 of jacket and field repair. All Period thread from tailor and what appears to be a field repair.
+ 7 button holes, with top and bottom buttons missing.
+ heavy thick wool, with modest wear and evidence of field wear.
I have searched for various WWI uniforms pictures looking for a match on pockets that are similar. My guess is an WWI Austrian - Hungarian uniform where the bottom pockets were perhaps removed by a tailor.
Would be grateful educated guesses and opinions. Uniforms aren’t my thing.
