IMO a nice colonial service veteran flag pole top.
Double edge loops indicates the veteran origin -
any emblem could be ordered placed in the top
center, this being still the case in flag catalogs.
The IG era Government Service Eagle was used
on pre-1918 embassy flags, and later by IG vets.

          Thank you very much .
Is it a rare pole top ?
What is surprised me is the size,it is pretty large larger than other imperial top I have seen.

          Regards

Indeed rare as many were deliberately
            destroyed during WW2 for patriotism.

I agree: An amazing photo! The fourth man from the left is another "Hitler look-alike!"

The photo from post 5 is a great photo, but well-known and used in various books since the 1980's! I used parts in a cropped form also (gorget-book). It was also partly included in volme 2 for the series "Headgear of Hitler's Germany", which was published in 1992.
