Nice bird. Too bad someone drilled holes in it (in the eye and oak leaf wreath).

Agreed, a good find for sure.

Wow........if that's real, it's a poor cast with very little detail to the reverse.

Nope, I'm not on board with this one. Looks like a fake with "cut-off" posts to me.

Can we please see the top of the head to see if there's hand finishing marks?

I agree it looks good....The extra holes were likely for mounting it onto something.....Bodes

The bird is fine. The machining marks on the posts look correct (circular machining marks). This is a feature I haven't seen on any fake out there. However, it does look like someone ground down the mounting posts (as it looks recently cut...good observation 11C), probably to mount it flush to something. The detail/texture on the front and back look fine for make. As far as filing marks, I don't use that as an indicator. Anyone could take a file/stone wheel to remove flashing to make it look authentic. Setting it up in a jig to properly machine the mounting posts is another thing.

looks fine, if you want to be sure measure it and see if it conforms to known originals by this maker, the back looks like that on these, it was the front that needed to be smooth,

Wow...another bird picked up by German War Helmet (two birds in a couple days). So much for Veteran pickups. Just peruse the usual sites, increase the price by 90% and your good to go.

Folks, you should put your stuff on e-stand, you'll get more money and the item will more than likely go to another collector rather than get turned for profit.
