In 2009, i was visiting the Show of Shows for the first time. I was having breakfast in the hotel when this older American man joined me. He asked what i was in the states for and i said i was going to this military show. He told me he was going as well and if i needed a ride. Walking to his car he told me he had this 'nazi flag' for sale. Opened the booth and there was the first DE flag I ever saw. Speechless, i asked him what he was selling it for. 10 grand was his answer so I told him better at least triple that figure. At the show, he sold it for 35 grand and i believe the same day it sold for 45 grand. He was very happy :-)

I saw 4 DE Standartes for sale at the MAX including one fairly complete one owned by Craig Gottlieb. The price on just the cloth seemed to be around 48K. I didn't see any 34 streamers for sale though!

This came from a "Wanted to Buy" ad I ran locally in 1969. The veteran contacted me. He took me to his coal bin in the basement and showed me this pole top and another NSDAP 2nd style top. He said he got both in Heidenheim in 1945. He also said he had the DE banner, but it had been mislaid and probably thrown away.

                  DE pole top

I am also one of the lucky ones to almost own a pole top.It was 1975,I
was 18 years old.A neighbor died and his wife pulled one out of her closet. She also had a shoe box full of german watches and a box full of
medals. She also had a lot of guns for sale.I could of had the german "stuff" or the guns for $2000. dls.I chose the guns.I believe she ended up in Arizona.I doubt I will ever be that close again.

The DE standard was something I wanted since I was a youngster collecting militaria. It still gives me tingles.

If you decide one day to part this DE, remember I am one of your options.
