    Hi looks like an original salty one to me. This is just one type of eagle they used. Itis a little big most collectors like the smaller ones. Best regards.

        Thanks for the info guys, very much appreciated.
        Did the pattern design on the eagle change at specific times or was it ok for the manufacturers to use either as they liked?
        Would a flag of this large size been flown from a pole, and as it has no inked markings on the lanyard (only a makers tag) what could it have been used for.
        I hope this makes sense. I am quite new to collecting!

          Yes, RDF eagle's detail design varies by maker -
          mostly the head, claws. What is your RDF's maker?

            The flag is number 41 on your maker's list. Came out of Konigsberg, Prussia according to the tag.

                Does anybody know what the i stands for before the /PR. which I presume indicates Prussia on the maker's tag?
