Hello All,
I was looking through a 10. April 1940 edition of Die Wehrmacht magazine, when I saw a couple photos of interest, in an article titled "U-Boot läuft aus..." The article shows a montage of pictures of U-Boot crews preparing to put out to sea.
Haven't seen too many photos of a flotilla pennant or flag being flown, so I thought I would post this one here.
The first photo shows a flotilla pennant. I believe the caption reads "From the first moment of putting out, the sea and sky will be constantly and diligently monitored"
The second, shows a view looking towards the stern with a slightly tattered second pattern Reichskriegsflagge along with a submariner waving a signal flag.
Enjoy,
Eric
