Hello folks. I pulled a few very nice pieces out of a yard sale this morning...this is one of them. A finial depicting an upward facing sword w/ swastika and the motto" Symbol wird Waffe" (Symbol becomes Weapon) on one side, and a very nicely executed Iron Cross w/ the date "1940" on the other side. It appears to be made out of either some sort of gilded white metal or hard resin and doesn't appear to have ever been mounted. It measures 9 4/5 high x 5 1/4 inches wide. I got it along with a very nice metal and wooden Hitler plaque. Has anyone come across this particular finial before and if so, if you know what organization or particular event it represents I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks!

Thanks. That makes sense w/ the sword design. Kyffhaueser Bund or Krieger BundI'd assume? I'm guessing now it's Bakelite. The condition is really fantastic and it still retains most of its original finish. Thx again!Comment
