flags as folk art, etc. ???

Interesting flag, with all the additions a modern version
of folk art, as enhanced pre-1917 flag code examples
are called these days. At one time I tried to collect all
the US flag patterns, but gave up since pre-ACW types
are almost impossible since the material had to be imported.
Of all the US flags types, the pre-1902 US Army National
unit color was the rarest to find. A photo postcard showing
the M-1895 16th Rgt. flags (130254013776) just sold on eBay
for ~$78, so even original photos of same can be dear today.
