    NSDAP Tapestry

    Hello,
I have this tapestry. Any comments. Perhaps someone has seen one before. I have owned for about 20 years. I collect other things now. There is some slight damage to the arm of the swatika. Definately a nice original piece however.

Nice piece! Is it woven, or are the gold portions separately applied?

        Hi Phil,
Thanks for your comments. I am sure it came from a place of importance. Unfortunately, I cannot display it in my new house. I don't have the wall space.

          Peter:

I have seen one of these about 20 years ago. Back when Dallas had several good militaria shows, a guy used to come down to the show that Johnson (can't remember his first name) from Chicago used to promote twice per year at the Airport Inn in Irving, Tx. This guy had all kinds of flags and had this item under his table. I know he had it for at least two shows and can't recall what he said it was used for (or even if he knew).

Anyhow, it was identical in design and size to what you show here. Who knows, perhaps it is the same item...

          Regards,

          Drew

A bit late, but that is likely a hanging for a parade float in the procession 2000 Jahre Deutsche Kultur that was held in München 1938.

Nothing beyond Hermann Historica's description, I am afraid !
