Forum members, I was tinkering with my Israeli IDF trainer w/Remington .22 conversion and have a couple questions..
The gun wasn't extracting properly, and I noticed the bolt sleeve felt a little loose and sloppy....Didn't think much about it, as these were used heavily and figured it was typical...After screwing the bolt sleeve in one more rotation, the extractor problem seems to have gone away....
Question #1, Does anybody that has one of these know if the bolt sleeve should be rotated/tightened until it bottoms out?.....I believe the 8mm K98k was made in this manner...My safety doesn't work and wonder if this might solve the problem?....One concern is potentially harming the firing pin if over tightened....Yes, I realize you don't need a safety on a single shot rifle.....In fact, have even thought the safety wasn't really intended to be functional?...
Question #2, Anybody have a picture of the firing pin?...Are they a converted K98k firing pin with the tip somehow converted into the rimfire .22?....
Any thoughts/ help appreciated....Bodes
