Radom 'M' block with phosphate finish?

This was picked up at the military show in Ohio this weekend.

I am not familiar with an 'M' block having a phosphate finish. It looks like the exact same greenish tint finish that is well known with the final 'K' block. Any thoughts?

The pistol also came with a shoulder holster that I figured was an American rig at first, but when I looked closer at the clip I was really surprised by the German markings. It looks as if the Germans knocked off the American design. I tried to put a Colt .45 and a Browning Hi-Power into the holster, but only the Radom fits. On that note, I have never seen one like this. Is anyone familiar with this type of holster?

    Thanks,
    Jordan

I’ve seen quite a few similar made shoulder holsters for various Models of German pistols, all “inspired” by the US model shoulder holster but with differences in details like this one. IMO they were made by German saddler shops for occupation troops in the months and perhaps years after the surrender.

Evidently someone added a new set of WaA63 which is not correct mainly on civil patent button. even not correct for grips, WaA63 was used by WW (ZB) Brno since 1940. b.r.Andy

          Thanks, Phil and Andy.

Phil, That would make sense that the holster could have been made for the occupation troops. If it was made within a few months after the war (maybe within even a year or two), then that would also potentially explain why the Radom doesn't have an import stamp.

Andy, have you seen other civil patent buttons like this one? I am becoming very interested in finding more information about it, because it looks like an exact knockoff of the American patented design. It looks like the maker might be "RG" (with a backwards R). I cannot find any information online. It's very well made, so it would be a shame if someone added a stamp to the rear of the button.

You should look at configuration, in polish book about Vis Wz.35 is mentioned that M range is end 1942/43 so the grips are not correct there, should be plastic grips, you should compare the WaA63 on button with the stamp on wood grip inside, i believe both are same stamp, which are faked here. You should look at the other stamp under it?? i dont see details. Certainly WaA63 is not correct for Radom, and not correct for a button. br.Andy

cmpletely refurbished example. Even the finishing is too good for a radom from this period

I would assume that the “m” range from late 42-Early 43 would be the M suffix range and not the M prefix range as this pistol is marked.

Sorry for my post above post as it is not accurate and misleading. The bottom line for me is to say I’m in agreement with the others that this pistol is much too early for this type of finish and grip type

no problem, any opinions are good, anyway from literature a M prefix range is late 1942 or early 43, to this corespond large WaA77 on slide and frame , and small E/623 near tormentation eagle, the pistol has a locking slide lever in back position, which would be not present on late produced war pieces 1944 with wood grips, as mentioned here the finish is not proper for the range, and the grips are faked stamped with WaA63 same as button of holster, which are done some years ago, 3 years were on Ebay similar new WaA dies for 120USD, so no problem to obtain and add to the grips . I asked the owner for additional details about the second WaA on grips? b.r.Andy

some one was trying to boost value by turning it into a last ditch type with wood grips..

Last block was the K block after the first alpha roll over. this one isn't close.
Hope you didn't pay too much !!!!

And yet it's still a nice looking pistol.
