    Mauser C96 unknown shoulder stock

Need your help again.... Another stock of unknown origin. Mauser C96 fits perfectly... No markings... For sure very old, not a fantasy item...

    Anybody knows anything about it?

Home made. I cannot image being able to see the pistol sights when that is attached to the pistol.

      Unknown Shoulder Stock

If it is home made it is well home made. Seems to be of good workmanship, parts fit well. Never seen one, a real odd ball.

You are attaching it upside down! Body of stock is below line of sight......

Interesting. Can you take some photos of it attached to a broom handle?

No. look at the butt angle and the attaching iron angle. Then take notice that that will place the pistols sights at about forehead height.

I misunderstood what you meant and now understand your point. It does raise the sights but doesn't appear to raise them too high. With standard M96 stock on a gun I have to lower my head to align the sights. Looks like this stock would require stretching one's neck a bit and having it low on the shoulder. Very nice work though.

Not home made but looks quite professionally made.

I agree. Button system is more advance then on normal c96 stock

Could be an early prototype, experimental or even an early special order, who knows perhaps one of 5 or 10 made at a request for a special purpose? Aviation, horseback? but never put into mass production.

somehow it just looks kind of English to me from a Geshtalt standpoint. Just a thought. does it fit a regular Broom or a bolo? If a unique stock, perhaps made special order by a fine craftsman/gunsmith/woodworker guy. Or maybe made by the gunsmith for himself. Maybe after the original was lost or broken. we'll find out lot more. if and when someone comes up with a second one.

very interesting and beautiful wood and metal work. It will probably remain a mystery. which is fine too: I would be happy with it even not knowing anything more.

The proportions of the stock resemble that of a twenty round cone hammer Broomhandle.

A 20 round stock would not have the very bottom section, I had a 20 round stock years ago and they are just like the 10 round stock in shape but with a deeper section for the extended mag housing. Look at this link https://www.ammoland.com/2009/04/rar...#axzz4inBnr3oI
