Now I did post this rifle on K98 forum a few years back but got minimal replies, I don't even know if I posted in correct section. It's a Luftwaffe Issue 1937 S/42 with Early Laminated stock 90%matching wood metal parts. Has a whole bunch of weird stamps on it. Has a carved L and 3 smaller L'S to form a 3 armed swastika or goosestepping stickman, I believe it was re-issued several times in the war years. has 44 stamped under the receiver with a bunch of other stamps/markings. Has what looks like a skull under the pistol grip with crossed swords or rifles or something, very hard to see not a Totenkopf skull a neater symmetrical one, also has a small luft amt eagle above that at the top of the underside of pistol grip near the rear bolt hole. Has what looks like possibly an L with a P at the top left side of stock where it narrows between barrel bands. It also has an L in the rear sling cut out in the stock has an F there also. Has a dark 12 stamped in front of floor plate and a 16 imprint stamp on Left side of the stock near rear grip. It also has a waffen amt marked upper swivel sling loop with the side sling also, it also has an unmarked rear swivel sling loop on the underside. any info Appreciated cheers. I'll post pics as soon as I work out how. The only non matching parts are band spring unmarked (field replacement) Lower band (Shrapnel chunk/wear matches period replacement) and bolt, everything else is all original numbered.
