I buying this WWII commercial Walther PPK which was captured by a US soldier from Bridgeport, CT. The gun is all matching and in decent condition. My only question is regarding the holster. Other than the soldier writing his name, serial number and hometown on the holster there are no other markings to tell me who made this and what year it is.
I was wondering if anyone would enlighten me. Is this a military issued holster or civilian? And is it actually made for the PPK? The gun fits in the holster but its a little tight trying when trying to grab it. Also, it appears that someone may have modified the holster by removing something because there are signs of stitch marks under the flap. Also on the back there appeared to have been possibly two leather belt loops on each side, but now there is only one.
I will add better photos tomorrow. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
