    MP.40 & MG.34 (pictures)

    BNZ 1943 MP.40:
Nothing flash as the finish is worn and it is mis-matched.

DOT 1945 MG.34: This one has a mixture of Nazi and Israeli property stamps.

With the 50round belt in it's assault drum:

Belt feed from a 400 round ammo tin. 50 round belts were linked together to form a 150 round belt and a 250 round belt. This tin is a German manufactured one that was re-painted by the Yugoslave army.

    Barrel change:

Bi-pod moved to the rear track that was normally used for pintel mounts or anti-aircraft tripods:

Those are great pictures Nice work. I didn't know that they made the MG34 all the way up to 1945? Never mind the MP not being matching numbers. It's still a charismatic design to look at.

The MP40 was a "working horse" so a lot of them which where in service are mismatched ... i would not mind that ...

Or do you think that a german soldier would have say "Oh its mismatched, i will not use it for combat"

Hard to say, the going rate is about NZ$2,500.00 for an MP.40 but as most are sold at auction so it depends on the day, I got lucky with the MG.34, as I got it at the hammer fall for NZ$2,200.00 but otherwise they are $3,000- $4,000 depending on accessories.

Avalibility is varied, there seems to be cycles of drought or plenty. However we are not restricted on imports so if you can stand to go through the paperwork you can always get one from overseas.

Thank you very much for the info !

Up to $4000NZ...Thats around £1500 ($2800US) for a live MG34 not a bad price and best of all it works ! Here in the UK a de-activated MP40 will cost around £2000 for an old specification one and in NZ you can have a live one for around £800 and you can import too !

Maybe I should have chosen New Zealand to emigrate to instead of Austria ! Oh well at least the airfare is cheaper !

Great pictures and thank you again.
