    1938 S/42 with "Rack Numbers"

Where would we be without our friends!! My good friend up in the Panhandle called one day. Said he was looking at a couple of lugers. Told me that on one, all the numbers he could see looked to be matching, including the mag. I asked for what was on the toggle, and he replied "S/42". Said the condition wasn't all that great, but not too bad. And oh yeah, it has what looks like "rack numbers" on the back strap. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to see it.

Ronnie, you've scored a big one. The marking is a North Sea unit marking. It was issued to the Kriegsmarine.
