    help in ID 20mm

When I started looking around to ID the headstamps I could not find the "P" factory. But on one of the ammo sites I use, I have been told that P382 = Hanseatic chain GmbH Hamburg and later the code was changed to (asr). My understanding is this is not a common headstamp.

]The last mark to id is the Quality control mark...WaA329 that is the inspector's number. For Italian rounds the inspector codes have been recorded and the names are available of the people who held the post. So does the same apply to the German inspectors? I know that when they moved from factory to factory they took their code with them. That is why you can sometimes find the same quality code on rounds from two different factory codes. If anyone has a 20mm round with the same batch code (16e) and is complete please can you tell me if it is flak, AP, or ball. thanks for your help.

A look at the projectile will tell what type of rd it is. Flak have long cases and Luftwaffe are shorter cases on 2 cm.

Yep, a couple of pics of shell case and headstamps would be best to identify the round and maker.,

That's a 20x138b 2cm Flak/Kwk/C 30-38 round case. 37 would be the production year, 16e for the lot batch, and P382 would be the producer: Hanseatische Kettenwerk (HAK), Hamburg (Schleswig-Holstein), later had the asr three letter code, according to Municion.org . A single P would have been for Polte Armaturen und Maschinenfabrik A.G., Magdeburg, but p+ a number is another maker.

This kind of case could be loaded with a HE or AP projectile, never mind the codes of the headstamp
