success at last got the old broomhandle to shoot. got a new firing pin from numrichs. tried sarco but they never delivered, so canceled and went with a winner. tried to do myself but couldn't get new pin to seat, so gave up and took it to art lawson here in ocala. he was able to clean up the old pin. said it had a lot of burrs that blocked travel to primer. anyway took her down to indoor range, put on stock and blasted away a few rounds. by the way i called numrichs and asked if 9mm and 30 cal firing pins were different. they said they only carry one for either, so now i have a spare, as art fixed the original. great to hear that 30 sound. it is unmistakable. sounds like my old m1 carbine.BEAUTIFUL. oh the reason the new pin wouldn't seat was because there is a spring that has to twist onto the pin and lock into place. if you don't seat in the pin won't go in far enough to lock into place with twist motion.
